Deacons are servants of the Church and not a board of directors; yet, by virtue of their spiritual qualification as outlined in Acts 6:1-7, Philippians 1:1, and 1 Timothy 3:8-13, they serve as a council of advice and confer with the Pastor regarding the welfare and work of the Church. The Deacon team seeks to undergird the ministry of the Church through prayer, encouragement, comfort, service, and spiritual leadership. Deacons are active members of the Church, seeking to serve the Church in fulfillment of its purpose and mission. They collectively visit the sick, care for the needy, encourage the members, conduct benevolent ministries, counsel the bereaved, and assist in the ordinances.
